GoodLife agrees it owes workers $7.5M in back pay
The London Free Press talks to Christine Davies about the GoodLife class action settlement
As we posted a few days ago, the GoodLife employment class action has been tentatively settled, pending approval of the Ontario Superior Court.
The London Free Press spoke to Christine Davies about the settlement:
“This has made a real difference in living and working conditions for vulnerable people, in a difficult and demanding job,” said Christine Davies, lawyer with Toronto law firm Goldblatt Partners.
“We hope these changes that have occurred will make working conditions more fair.”
…
“They will now be paid for planning sessions, they were not previously, for research they may do and scheduling, completing paperwork and entering information into the system,” said Davies.
“Since the action started, there have been changes to GoodLife’s own policies.”
