Nina Patti

Lawyer

Biography

Nina Patti likes people. She became a lawyer to help people solve their problems and advocate for their rights against powerful institutions. Her work ranges from representation at the individual level, including advancing workers’ claims against their employers, to the more systemic areas of class action and constitutional litigation.

Nina believes that empowered workers are essential to the fight for a fairer world and sees forms of collective legal action as an important tool to achieve justice. She advises employees on their rights regarding wrongful dismissals, constructive dismissals, and discrimination, and can assist with the negotiation of employment contracts and severance packages.

In addition to representing individuals, Nina works on class actions and complex constitutional lawsuits, including actions on behalf of workers with common claims against their employers and on behalf of incarcerated people who have suffered systemic injustice at the hands of the prison system.

Nina graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in the top 10% of her class. She also received class prizes in Tort Law, Class Actions, and Legal Ethics and was awarded the Patricia Julia Myhal Scholarship for Excellence in Legal Writing. While at law school, she was a caseworker in the Employment Division of the Downtown Legal Services legal clinic, representing low-income workers who had been wrongfully terminated or discriminated against. Before law school, Nina earned an Honours BA in History from McGill University and worked in the field of telecommunications regulation.

Nina was called to the bar in 2025 after articling with Goldblatt Partners. She then completed a clerkship at the Ontario Court of Appeal, assisting judges with appeals of civil, commercial and criminal proceedings, before returning to practice at the firm.

In her personal time, Nina enjoys any activity involving teamwork and creativity, including choral singing, team sports, and tabletop role playing games. She is a passionate fan of the sport of quadball (formerly quidditch), which she played and coached for 10 years.
