Biography

Zubeir represents public and private sector unions in a broad range of labour matters, including collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and other workplace disputes. He brings a thoughtful, inquisitive approach to his practice, grounded in compassion for the people he represents and a commitment to advancing workers’ rights.

Growing up in a family of healthcare workers, Zubeir saw firsthand the power of collective action and the meaningful benefits of union representation. These experiences shaped his dedication to advocating for workers and marginalized communities.

Zubeir further developed this commitment through Osgoode Hall Law School’s Poverty Law Intensive, working as a caseworker in the Workers’ Rights division at Parkdale Community Legal Services and a volunteer at the Workers’ Action Centre. In those roles, he assisted clients with employment and human rights matters and represented them before the Ministry of Labour, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Ontario Labour Relations Board

Outside of work, Zubeir enjoys hiking, playing sports, and cheering on the Toronto Raptors and Arsenal FC.
