Biography

Rachael Gardner (she/her) assists Indigenous clients in promoting and protecting their legal rights through collaboration and litigation. To that end, she works with communities, individuals, and businesses to learn their stories, identify their goals, and find a practical and principled path forward. Rachael is a skilled manager of complex situations, an avid listener, and a forceful advocate.

Prior to joining the firm, Rachael worked as a litigator at full-service firm in British Columbia. There, she helped clients navigate through all phases of dispute resolution, from identifying their legal problem through to trial or settlement. Rachael has experience in a range of civil areas, including business disputes, appeals from administrative or regulatory decisions, and estate litigation. She has represented clients in different courts and tribunals, and at a large commission of inquiry.

Rachael has been practicing law since 2020, and is licensed to practice in Ontario and British Columbia. She earned her law degree from the University of Victoria, where she learned to parse legal issues and manage deadlines as editor-in-chief of Appeal law journal.

Outside of the office, Rachael enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, finding new podcasts, or getting lost in a good book.
