Husna Sarwar

Lawyer

Biography

Husna Sarwar (she/her) works at the intersection of labour law and human rights, advocating for workers’ rights at both the federal and provincial levels, in English and French. She brings legal expertise, attention to detail, and strategic thinking to every matter she takes on, always keeping in focus the people behind the case.

Husna’s commitment to principled advocacy took shape early. While studying at the McGill Faculty of Law, she conducted research at the intersection of labour law and equality rights, clerked at the Administrative Tribunal of Quebec, and volunteered with several legal clinics. Before law school, Husna spent many years supporting refugee resettlement organizations in the Ottawa region, immersing herself in work that helped individuals navigate the law and access vital social services. These experiences reinforced her dedication to ensuring that legal systems remain accessible, that rights are meaningfully enforced, and that clients are guided clearly through their options.

Outside of her practice, Husna most enjoys sharing a cozy home-cooked meal or offering (solicited) amateur interior design advice to friends.
