Emma Phillips discusses current issues in workplace privacy at the Canadian Institute’s 11th Annual Forum on Privacy Law and Compliance.
Emma will address the most recent cases on an employee’s reasonable expectation of privacy with respect to personal information in the workplace, whether employees can be fired or disciplined for commentary posted on social media sites, doing background checks of potential hires, addressing the privacy concerns of an employee accessing company information on their personal device, and the extent to which employers allowed to look at or monitor personal devices.
