Ella Bedard joins WAC
Ella Bedard has accepted an exciting two-year position as in-house counsel with the Workers Action Centre, and will be taking a leave from the firm during that time.
Many of you know Ella, who came to GP as a summer student in 2017, articled with us the following year, and then joined the firm as an associate in 2019. A workers’ rights advocate through and through, Ella had already worked for two public sector unions, completed a Masters certification in Labour Studies at the City University of New York, worked the Labour Beat as a reporter for rabble.ca, and completed three semesters in the Workers’ Rights division of Parkdale Community Legal Services while in law school. In her spare time, Ella could be found campaigning for Fight for $15 and Fairness.
We will miss Ella’s enthusiasm and intellect, but look forward to continuing to work with her while she is at WAC.
Good luck, Ella!
