Biography
Hymers Wilson is a passionate advocate for workers’ rights, with a specific focus on supporting construction unions before the Ontario Labour Relations Board and in private arbitration. He acts on behalf of clients in a wide range of legal matters that help trade unions protect their members, including unfair labour practice complaints, certification proceedings, jurisdictional disputes, and grievances.
Hymers completed the Juris Doctor program at Osgoode Hall Law School. While attending law school, he worked at the Parkdale Community Legal Services clinic, providing advocacy and legal support to low-wage workers. He represented clients in a variety of matters, including human rights complaints, wage theft, and severance pay. He also volunteered with the Osgoode Mediation Clinic and the Workers Action Centre where he continued to hone his dispute resolution and legal advocacy skills.
Before attending law school, Hymers worked for the federal government administering the Employment Insurance program, where he gained insight into the challenges faced by workers. Hymers also holds a Bachelor of Criminology from the University of Ottawa.
Outside the office you are likely to find Hymers watching the Raptors/Blue Jays or playing golf.
