Updated Message from the Managing Partner
Update on our response to COVID-19
Things have changed rapidly since my March 15th message. We know that our clients and communities are struggling to keep up with new information and increasing measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.
We began doing much of our work remotely almost three weeks ago, both lawyers and staff alike. While we initially we kept the office open, maintained by a small number of staff and lawyers, we made a decision last Sunday to close the office for several weeks.
We feel it is important to take every step we can to keep our employees and clients safe, while operating remotely and remaining open for business. We have all quickly become familiar with Zoom and other platforms that allow us to continue our work. We are also working with other members of the labour law bar, arbitrators and other tribunals to expand the possibility of online hearings and mediation.
We are still picking up mail and other packages, and making sure they are delivered promptly to the responsible lawyer. We would like to thank our clients and other counsel who have sent us material electronically.
We continue to respond to our clients’ needs as promptly as possible during this challenging time, and remain ready and able to serve you.
If you have any questions, or we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me or the lawyer with whom you are working.
