The Honourable John Evans Joins the Firm
Goldblatt Partners is delighted to announce that the Honourable John Evans has joined the firm as public law counsel.
John began his judicial career on the Federal Court in 1998 and served on the Federal Court of Appeal from 1999 to 2013. Prior to his appointment to the Bench, he taught in the faculty of law at the London School of Economics and at Osgoode Hall Law School. He was also an adviser to law firms, governments, administrative agencies and law reform bodies on a broad range of legal issues, and a regularly invited speaker at conferences.
John is a leading expert in public law, and particularly in administrative law. He has written, edited and co-authored numerous articles and books on public law, both in England and Canada, including Judicial Review of Administrative Action in Canada, the 4th edition of de Smith’s Judicial Review of Administrative Action and Administrative Law: Text, Cases and Materials. He is a recipient of the Mundell Medal for excellence in legal writing, and the Medal of the Canadian Council of Administrative Tribunals for contributions to administrative justice in Canada.
