Daniel Iny advises young lawyers on what to do when they make mistakes
The Lawyers’ Weekly has reported on a professional development seminar in which Daniel Iny and others advised young lawyers on what to do when they discover they’ve made a mistake.
The seminar, Still Human: Mistakes and Apologies in Legal Practice, was held in September 2013 and was sponsored by the Ontario Bar Association.
Among other things, panel participants stressed that lawyers must own up when they have made a mistake:
“There is no worse time to be an ostrich. The mistake won’t go away by burying your head in the sand” notes Daniel Iny, a lawyer with Sack Goldblatt Mitchell in Toronto and one of the OBA session speakers.
