In this paper, prepared for the Ontario Bar Association’s Annual Update on Human Rights, Kelly Doctor discusses the regulatory regimes that apply to service animals in Ontario.

Lending a Helping Paw: An Overview of the Law of Service Animals in Ontario canvasses the debate about whether service animals should be certified, and reviews the steps an organization can take to meet its legal obligations, and to ensure that service animal users are treated with dignity and respect.
